FAQS (AND ANSWERS!)
YOUR WEBSITE SAYS OUT OF STOCK AND I REEEALLY WANT THAT PIECE - WHEN WILL MORE BE AVAILABLE?
Each piece is hand-made, from the original lump of wet clay right through to the finished product. With drying and firing times, this process generally takes around 3-4 weeks. I have many items in production anywhere along that timeline, so it might be available in 2 days or 2 weeks. If you would like to get an estimate of when an item might be back in stock, or to request a similar item to something you missed out on, please don’t hesitate to contact me here and I’ll try my best to get that special item to you, pronto!
I HAVE AN IDEA FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT, DO YOU DO CUSTOM WORK?
The short answer is, sometimes. I love creating custom pieces for you - except when I’m reeally busy, because they take a lot of extra time. I have a few spots for custom work every so often, please contact me here and we can discuss what you have in mind.
YOUR VIBE IS ALL ABOUT APPRECIATION FOR NATURE - WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO BE SUSTAINABLE?
I source materials as locally and sustainably as possible. This includes using quality Australian clays, pastels, paints and other raw materials. Hanging items are made using sustainably sourced fair-trade hemp, linen and (minimal) post-consumer recycled cotton.
Ceramics can be a resource intensive practice. Some of the ways that I reduce my footprint is by handbuilding (using much less water and electricity than wheel throwing), ensuring I only fire a full kiln, recycling my clay scraps, and disposing of residual chemicals responsibly.
I live by the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ mantra. Packaging is mostly post-consumer reused or recycled materials. Apart from tape that I am still using from old stock (and will swap out for water activated paper tape), all packaging and promotional material is made from either paper, cardboard, cello or hemp, and entirely compostable. Please consider reusing, recycling or composting packaging materials when your order arrives.
